You are not good at stress and time management if your home or workplace is full of clutter, if there are many unfinished tasks that demand your immediate attention, If you are running around a lot but not reaching anywhere.

If you are afflicted with a deep sense of frustration at not doing enough, then you are not managing your time wisely.

You cannot hope to manage stress unless you get a handle on your time. Time can be your biggest ally, or it can be your ruthless enemy. We all have same amount of time in a day – 24 hours – but some people seem to be doing more, having more peace of mind and living a more fulfilled life. How is it possible? Don’t they feel stressed out? –

The secret lies in their ability to manage time and stress.

Signs of Poor Stress and Time Management -

If you are not managing your time wisely, it is reflected in your life by the presence of one or more of the following conditions:

  • You are not in control – You don’t feel in control of your affairs. In your personal life, you are neglecting things that are most important for you. At workplace, tasks are piling up and you are only managing one crisis after another. You are overwhelmed by all the demands made on you by those around you - your boss, your family, etc. etc.

  • You are not doing enough – You feel that you are not able to attend to your personal and official affairs in a timely and organized manner; hence your productivity is suffering. In spite of being extremely busy, you don’t seem to be achieving anything worth while. Inside, you don’t feel satisfied, only annoyed and disturbed: a sure sign of poor stress and time management.

  • You never have enough time – You don’t find time for anything – be it important matters, leisure or affairs of the personal life.

  • You waste your time on trivial matters – You are always getting distracted, seem to be wasting time in un-important matters and never reaching goals that should have been most important for you. You only feel a lot of stress and time management seems to be a far cry for you! You keep on procrastinating most important tasks and keep busy with things that are of least importance.

  • You are full of discontent – You are never satisfied, you don’t feel happy and don’t seem to reach anywhere. The feeling of contentment and achievement is missing. You suspect that you are missing out on important things in life.

  • You want to be more productive and balanced - You want to do more and achieve more, yet you also want to lead a fulfilling personal life. You also want to create a healthy balance in your professional and personal life.

The symptoms described above are felt by many people in the society. In most of the cases these can be easily remedied by following some practical and simple stress and time management practices.

Take Charge of Your Time to Take Charge of Your Life

Many talented people never reach their true potential because they were never taught about time management. All achievers are good time managers- take my word for it. They all follow good practices of time management – either consciously or sub-consciously. With proper time management, many less gifted persons have been able to achieve more than their talented brothers and sisters.
If you think about it, it seems to be only natural. After all, time is the costliest and most important asset that we have – once gone it can never be brought back. A sense of urgency is very important in anything that we take up.

If you really want to live a fulfilled, happy and satisfied life, you must learn to practice techniques of good stress and time management.
