The Common Anxiety Symptoms

Physical And Emotional Symptoms Of Anxiety

Taking Note Of Anxiety Symptoms

Feeling anxious is a part of life: we all experience some anxious moments when we have to face a situation we don't feel comfortable in.

Feeling anxiety in some situations is quite normal.

It might be giving a presentation, making a speech, or going to meet your girl friend's parents to ask for her hand.

We all are different, we feel anxious in different kinds of situations: we cannot compare our anxiety symptoms with others and arrive at a judgment!

But this normal reaction can take the form of an 'anxiety disorder', when the gravity of these symptoms is more than can be justified by the given situation; when the anxiety starts interfering with your normal life, when you start avoiding certain places or people just to avoid that feeling of fear.

When you are overpowered with a fear that something terrible is about to happen, but when there is no rational explanation for the same, then it might be that you are suffering from an anxiety disorder.

Anxiety is accompanied by a host of physical and emotional symptoms some of which might seem completely unrelated to the real problem, the anxiety.

Here are some common anxiety symptoms that are related to Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD):

Physical Anxiety Symptoms:

  1. Racing heart,
  2. Sweating,
  3. Chest pains,
  4. Choking sensation,
  5. Shortness of breath,
  6. Difficulty in breathing,
  7. Frequent urge to urinate,
  8. problem in getting sound sleep, sleep disorder,
  9. Flushing,
  10. Restlessness,
  11. Headache,
  12. Backacke,
  13. Nausea,
  14. Diarrhea,
  15. Trembling,
  16. Churning Stomach,

Emotional Anxiety Symptoms:

  1. The fear of loosing control,
  2. You might feel that you are going crazy,
  3. The feeling of apprehension and fear,
  4. Fear of making a fool in front of others,
  5. Perfectionism,
  6. Loss of self esteem and self confidence,
  7. Getting angry easily, short tempered, irritable,
  8. Feeling that struggle is becoming too much,
  9. Fear of being among people,

However, you should not feel that manifestation of anxiety is something to be ashamed of, or not to be discussed in front of other. With the advancement in medical sciences, there has been an increased understanding of various kinds of anxiety disorders. Health clinics and hospitals now offer inexpensive treatment and help. Your Health Insurance may also help you get suitable treatment; and they cannot reveal your medical treatment to your employer.

The real fear in such attacks, which needs to be taken care of upfront, is the fear of anxiety symptoms. The symptoms make it's sufferer feel ashamed, and his confidence takes a beating. However, understanding that these can be cured and many other people suffer from these conditions these days is somewhat reassuring. If you do not take suitable steps, these fears and anxieties will prevent you from doing many things in life which you would have enjoyed doing otherwise. In other words you will be living only a fraction of your life: these irrational fears keep on holding you back.

Taking note of anxiety symptoms and getting proper anxiety treatment will help you regain your confidence.
