About Us: Why We Made This Website



Introduction

I am Praveen K Sharma. I live in India with my wife and two kids. Both of us are post graduates in Science. While I am doing my full time job, she left hers to look after the kids.

Both of us enjoy reading, music and movies. Both of us share a common interest in alternate systems of healing. Study of Psychology has also been an abiding interest. We also enjoy fiction, Indian sweets, pastries and chocolates!

Stress as the topic of this website was chosen by both of with a purpose.

We observed that the predominance of the following in the lives of most of us is a cause of concern: anxiety, tension, worry, unhealthy lifestyle, lack of personal care and lack of attention towards cultivation of our inner self. All of this has created an overload of stress in our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual systems.

The Theme Of This Website

How to live a stress-free, relaxed, happy and healthy life, with your values intact, and heart in the right place: this is the theme of this website. Our explorations made us aware of many forgotten secrets of self-healing that we have also tried to share with you, our readers.

We have had our fair share of the ups and owns of life: oh, what a journey it has been. When we started out we were like two innocent kids who dreamily enter a jungle expecting to find playful tigers, loving bears and humorous elephants.

We learnt that we cannot change the way life unfolds, but can change the way we look at it, and learn strategies to deal with it's challenges. Some lessons are learnt only through experience: a mentor can just show you the path that he has traveled, but the 'living' part of that travel has to be got done by you. As they say – you have to die your own death to reach Heaven!

But, there are many things that can be learnt by observing others, by studying the strategies of successful people, by learning from the wisdom handed down to us through the ages.

Focus: Self Healing

There are many secrets of self healing that have been forgotten amidst the technological advances made in the last hundred years. We cannot, and should not, discard the tools that these advances have made available to us – thanks to which the life expectancy of humans has now touched one hundred years, which used to be as low as around forty years prior to these advancements.

But, so much knowledge has been allowed to be forgotten. So many holistic traditions are still there which have great restorative and healing qualities, but we can't practice them because, we are simply not aware of them.

Here we have tried to evoke interest in healing practices which enables us to get in touch with our self healing capabilities. Some great tools were made possible by the developments in modern sciences -- we have not ignored them.

I cannot say that we are living a life that is totally devoid of stress and anxieties; nor, that we are perfect. I am not an expert on stress management either. Through the pages on this website, I have tried to share with you the knowledge that we have gained, in the hope that something somewhere will touch you and open the gates of happiness for you and enable you to live a low stress, relaxed, happy and productive life.

How We Built This Website

Building of this website has been a joint effort: with my wife making me aware of many areas that were hitherto unknown to me, and opening many fresh perspectives that would otherwise have gone unnoticed. I look after the writing part.
